D.G. Rotary Announces 2009 Service Scholarship Award Winners

It is with great pleasure that The Rotary Club of Downers Grove announces that it has selected their six 2009 Service Scholarship Award winners.

It is with great pleasure that The Rotary Club of Downers Grove announces that it has selected their six 2009 Service Scholarship Award winners.

The six graduating students were selected from the students who submitted applications for the chance to interview for one of the scholarships. The qualifications to submit an application are the following:

1. A resident of Downers Grove
2. A graduating senior pursuing a post-secondary education
3. Participate in service activities in their respected school and / or community.
4. Evidence of leadership with service activities or programs
5. Financial need is not a criteria for selection

The Scholarships are awarded to the 6 students chosen from their application, service credentials, and their interview with the Rotary Club of Downers Grove Scholarship Review Board. Three are awarded to the south side of Downers Grove, and three scholarships are awarded to students on the north side of Downers Grove. Boundaries for the two local high schools are used to determine the boundary line.

Each of the six scholarships is valued at $2,000. The Rotary Club is pleased to announce the six $2,000 winners of the 2009 Rotary Club of Downers Grove Service Scholarships.

The Rotary Club of Downers Grove applauds these six individuals for their service to the community of Downers Grove. They are truly outstanding individuals!
